Palazzo Orangerie was originally built in 1733. In its time it has
been the residence of the most popular Grand Master of the Knights of St
John (the “Knights of Malta”), and of Sicilian and Maltese nobility.
Nowadays it is privately
owned and belongs to a noble family. The interiors are rich with fine
frescoes, magnificent marble, mirrored walls, trompes de l’oeil, rare
paintings and extravagant gilding. All the artistic designs were done by
Italian artists who were brought to Malta specifically for this purpose.
The internationally
recognized landscaped gardens, which are acclaimed as being among the
finest in Europe, further reflect the splendour of this gracious home.
This opulent 19th-century
stately home is rapidly becoming one of the island’s most in-demand and
versatile film and television locations.
The Ceremony can take
place inside in the Ballroom or outside in the garden or on the balcony
overlooking the garden, depending on your preference and weather.
The officiator will
conduct the symbolic ceremony but if you wish, you may read readings or
poems of your liking. We can also suggest quite a few nice
readings and poems. These can be read by the Officiator or by a
family member or a friend.
The reception can also be organised at this
venue.
The Marriage Registrar
will conduct a legal ceremony but if you wish, you may read readings or
poems of your liking. We can also suggest quite a few nice readings and
poems. These can be read by the Registrar or by a family member or a
friend.
